That's why I thought it was less likely
But officially speaking all #2 seeds are equal. Lexington is also a possibility, but WVU fits there too. We'll see.

going to risk a multi$$$ bonus in a few weeks for the kid.

If the injury heals completely without further risk, then sure.

Anyone think the snub increases the odds that Haseley demands to pitch?
A happy team at home has a little less urgency.

Now we have a bunch of pissed of Hoos out to prove the world wrong.

I could see Haseley demanding the ball in this scenario.

It certainly appears that politics shaped their decision because
what metric could have led to this decision? RPI? We had a better RPI than Houston, which was selected over us for a host site. How about Clemson, who lost 11 of 12 games at the end of the season including getting stomped by UVa? How about road wins? Wins against quality teams? It seems like we had about every metric favoring us. Given we were ranked #10, it seems very odd that we weren't among the 16 teams selected to host a regional.

Our athletic department will eventually learn who screwed us and "what goes around, comes around."

We just need to put this behind us and concentrate on playing baseball and let our performance speak for itself! Go Hoos!

Ranked #501.Not much activity, but did play a Challenger in May
After a year on tour and at age 23 and what should be near his prime years, I expect he is disappointed. I thought with his monster serve and forehand that he would do well on the tour. By well I thought he could get to in the top 150/ 200 by now with a slim chance for the top 100.

Just guessing, but his inability to move well and stay in points long enough to win them sort of like Isner, which plagued him in college, is likely a bigger problem against pros,

If you could somehow combine Ryan' s power with TSK's movement, all around game and consistency, then you would have a top 100 player. It will be interesting to see how TSK and AR do in the pros. The winner of today's match will get a main draw WC into the US Open. If Blumberg wins I think he will and should turn pro. Not much left to accomplish in college tennis.
As long as he stays at UNC they will be very good and probably better than us until we develop another really good #1 (maybe Soderlund?)

Two things would seem to be in order, given the BS host selections ...
(1) UVA should be the top #2 seed in NCAAT.

(2) If so, we should be placed in the lowest #1 seed's bracket that doesn't have us playing an in-conference team we played during regular season (thus eliminating us from appearing at Clemson, Louisville or UNC).

Does this sound about right?

UVa projected in Lexington Regional..........
"College Sports Madness" today has us projected with Connecticut and Ohio in that Regional, with Kentucky ranked #13-----we are then paired with the Louisville (ranked #4) Regional in the "Super Regional"--the ACC is projected to having the following "Regional" Hosts:
Florida State (#14), Clemson (#9),Wake Forest (#11),
North Carolina (#2), Louisville (#4)

Sure looks like we have been left out, after demonstrating over the years our ability to put fannies in the seats, much experience in hosting, and a great facility in a historic locale for Visitors to want to come !

Blumberg was on the verge of going pro with guys like Fritz, Paul, Opelka
Definitely on another level from our recruits. If I remember correctly, Tommy Paul had committed to Georgia before deciding to go pro. Blumberg was usually a half step behind those guys so he likely made a good decision to go to school. But he should go pro after this tournament in my totally unbiased unselfish opinion.

Just watching video of Quickley; Question
it looks like his release point on jumper is very low. Concenred it will be more easily blocked at the net level of competition. Steph Curry and most great shooters shoot from above eye level w release above the head. Quickley is lower. Larger defenders in college can swat that shit away. Do any of you gurus worry about stuff like this or can it be changed by Bennett bc he is such a great athlete etc.

This kid is from my area of the world.
McClung is a sneaky good athlete and a respectable pure shooter. Defense leaves very much to be desired, and Gate City is prone to lose contests that turn into scoring bonanzas.

Both sides are aware of the other, but I would not expect an offer forthcoming. The 2018 class is so darned deep and loaded.

Those are two excellent players but Blumberg was/is
On another level (his UTR was over a point higher than either of our recruits) but that's not to say that those two won't be productive at 5/6 next year for us. Blumberg was the #1 overall player in the senior class last year and showed why this year

Only if there's no shot clock. Emphasis on clock, also known as a device that measures time, one that starts automatically, not after refs' opinion that the team on O is stalling (or get tired of hearing one bench scream for it).
45 sec or 50 sec.
Retain f/o to begin quarters and o/t periods. (Maybe also last two min of each 1/2??)
