The Duke Blue Devils went to the Final Four for eight consecutive seasons from 2007 to 2014, but the current senior class on campus has yet to appear at Championship Weekend, and it’s a fact of which those seniors are well aware. At the other end is Virginia which, once the elite program in college lacrosse, has yet to win a conference game since 2014. Can the Cavaliers finally fix their ACC woes? Overall, the whole of the ACC has to get back to form, as 2017 was the first Final Four without an ACC team since 2004.

Player of the Year favorite: Justin Guterding, Duke
The Duke senior evolved his game in 2017, developing into a well-rounded scorer and feeder, finishing second in points in DI with 97 (51G, 46A). His production accounted for 33% of Duke’s assists and 26% of their points, making Guterding one of the most valuable players in college lacrosse. He now sits at sixth all-time in career points at Duke and should be on the shortlist to be a Tewaaraton favorite in 2018.
