This exactly. A good analogy I've heard before goes something like this:

Today, the government owns and maintains the road directly in front of your house (for almost everybody in the country). This means that UPS has the same ability to deliver a package to you as FedEx and the USPS.

However, imagine if UPS owned the road directly in front of your house. Do you think UPS would allow FedEx to deliver packages to your house using their road? Of course not! And if the government forced UPS to allow FedEx to deliver packages to your house on that UPS-owned road, UPS would surely charge FedEx a HUGE fee to use that UPS-owned road - meaning you'd pay a fortune to get a package delivered by FedEx.

Now, I understand that ISPs own that cable/fiber going to your home. But if net neutrality goes away, your ISP will be able to use pricing to effectively block content that they cannot block today.

Is that a good thing? I don't think so.
