I think that is reasonablea, and I don't know

enough to fall on one side or the other, but posts about personal development, especially years out, always leave me wondering when all the pieces come together as a team. A guy's personal development is nice, but I am far more concerned with total team performance in a given year. Does trying help the individual be the best he can potentially hurt team achievement? Or is this a situation where taking lumps this year should translate into a much improved team finish next year compared to this year? This is also running with the assumption highlighted in the OP that Nigel would (I hear you on "might") yield a better finish this season. I am certainly open to a response that, it isn't either or with respect to this season vs. next, and that Ty is the best option at PG this year without even considering next. Guys and Tys grow during the season, not just season to season.

I also don't find "we'll be fine" very compelling. It's a competition, and we have had a very successful program of late; just being fine isn't good enough. What is the next rung on the ladder for this program, and is this getting us there?
