I'm shocked there hasn't been more emphasis on taking care of Mom.

Happy wife, happy life. If Momma ain't happy, no one's happy.

Your wife is about to go through the most unimaginable pain and it's all your fault. Accept it. Take care of her before, during and after the delivery. Don't bitch about how awful the sofa in the hospital room is to sleep on or how much your back hurts.

When you get home from work and she's been taking care of the baby all day, don't you dare equate her day to a "day off". She's been cooped up with a screaming baby all day without adult interaction and going through post pardon depression... be exceedingly kind to her.

If she does go back to work, it's going to be brutal for her... understand how hard it is to give up your child, even if it's to a daycare facility for 8 hours.

Rub her feet, clean the house, tell her how great she looks, cook dinner.... whatever it takes to show her how much you love her.

Lastly, don't shy away from helping with the baby... diapers, feeding, bathing. I was HORRIBLE at it, because I didn't have younger siblings growing up, so I shied away from it... big mistake!

If your wife knows how much you are trying, she'll love you for it... but don't give her an excuse to hate you!
