Fun(?) with numbers, entering the final turn edition.

So, Saturday did not go as planned, though it did go as some of you expected, and the Hoos are back down to 64th. That leaves our guys right in the middle of our weak division.

Weak? Yes, with 102 computer polls in, our division's average ranking is 52nd. We're fighting the B1Gw (avg.51) and SECe (avg.53) for the bottom.

Overall, the conference averages and medians are:
ACC: 43/38
B1G: 45/44
XII: 49/37
Pac: 46/48
SEC: 44/42

The Big XII is the only conference with two teams over 100; Baylor at 111 and Kansas at 122.

The ACC and SEC have no teams over 100. UNC is the ACC's worst at 92, and Vandy holds down the bottom of the SEC at 84.

The top divisions are the Atlantic (avg. 34), B1Ge (38), and SECw (34). The SECw gets there with 4 top 25 teams (Bama 1, Auburn 10, Miss State 18, LSU 25). The Atlantic pulls it off via top to bottom depth (Clemson 2, NCSU 19, Wake 30, BC 37, L'ville 39, FSU 49, Cuse 59). The B1Ge is very top heavy (t OSU 7, PSU 8, Michigan 16, MSU 20, IU 67, Maryland 69, Rutgers 82).

So seeing those individual rankings probably has some people trying to guess the playoff spots according to the computers. And yes, I did intentionally call some out while not revealing others.

1) Bama
2) Clemson
3) Wisconsin
4) Miami

5) UGa
6) ND

I hear you, I hear you... BUT OKLAHOMA!
9) Oklahoma
All I can figure is that they need to be more efficient in beating mediocre teams.
