As you know, the NCAA isn't the issue. It's the FBI.


In a civil trial, I suspect numerous witness will please the Fifth. And let's not forget the many potential witnesses who could come forward to testify.

Why would UNC want to further publicize this mess? The last thing they want is the public to get angry. That raises the radar of the government / FBI. Stories of past violations can also surface. That being said, the NCAA doesn't want their skeletons unearthed as well.

Both organizations will want a resolution without going to trial ... but saving face.
