Agree -- and she was getting pushed into the keeper by the defender
PSU assistant coach got tossed for arguing that one. Ref gestured that she went up straight so no foul. Goalie simply misjudged the ball -- there was a pretty good breeze in that direction, so I'm sure it carried more than she anticipated.
Overall, the team over the past two games bore little resemblance to the team against Wiscy and Richmond. Playing with a purpose and with decisiveness. Not always with perfection in terms of passing and intuitive chemistry but willing to grind in the MF to win 50-50 balls and get back at it. I thought the UCLA loss was a true toss up affair with each team having run of play at different times, and fairly evenly (with UCLA possessing better threats when they did get forward). PSU I thought we took it to them most of the game.
The Wiscy loss will be a sore one, but going 2-1-0 against three top 5 quality teams out of conference is a great start to the season. Amazing I can say that after two home losses, which are a rare occurrence under Coach Swanson. Now the fun begins in conference.
