Most CBs are slow, relatively speaking, so Omar being slower than Honduras (and everyone else) doesn't bother me. But he allowed the ball to run through when he probably could have cleared it (as a defender I have been in similar situations where the timing of your steps and the ball just don't line up and your helpless as it rolls by, so maybe that happened, but it looked like he opted to let it go). More a mental mistake than being slow.
It looked more like he thought he could let it run and get onto it, maybe pass it back to Guzan. Big mistake either way.
I'm not sure what's up with Beasley.
I find it frustrating that for a while, not too long ago, our defenders were the best part of the team while we were hoping for better midfielders and forwards. Now it seems our defenders are the weakest part of our team.
Also, credit to Besler last night I thought he was exactly what you wanted out of a defender, to not be noticed.
