I don't put any of the 3 goals from this pair of games on Bruce.
Last night was Gonzalez failing to deal with the ball correctly.
Cameron had a terrible pass out of the back.
Maybe you can say the first goal against Costa Rica was on the manager, but honestly, two experienced CBs should not have been caught in that position.
I'm not trying to excuse Bruce, I think an apparent lack of urgency displayed in these past two games is on him as well as the players. But all three goals given up were just straight up mistakes by the players on the field. I don't see it as an organizational issue, just an execution issue.
If you want to blame Bruce for a lack of focus and mental sharpness, I wouldn't exactly argue. Obviously a lot of that is on the players. But I think it's also up to the coach to create an atmosphere where players are expected to be locked in. As a team, it didn't look like it last night at all. And after the result on Friday you think they'd come out last night like bats out of hell (at least until they ran out of gas), but they didn't really do that. Sure, they looked like the better team in the beginning, but that got flipped as soon as Honduras scored, and Honduras seemed to be winning all the second and 50-50 balls after that.
