Could make Stanford a true national contender. They have been a top15ish

team, but not a serious contender. A great player at #1 makes a huge difference in college tennis. Having a near automatic point at #1 and winning #1 doubles is usually enough to win college matches and be a true Natty contender. IMO UVA has largely made it to the big time by having dominant or near dominant #1's for many years. If not for Devvarrman, Shabaz, Singh Played some #1) Domijan, Jenkins, R Shane, and Kwiatkowski (mostly played #1), I doubt we would have won any Natty's. There is no doubt that we have been dominant at 4-6, but without these guys at #1, everyone would have had to move up and likely been much less successful.

In any event the PAC 12 may well be the dominant tennis conference this year with UCLA, USC, and Stanford. I am not sure how strong the ACC is going to be overall, other than WF being the favorite for the Natty. IMO UVA and UNC will be borderline top 10 teams, but not likely be serious Natty contenders.

This guy sounds like the type of player that Pedroso, needs to get, if we are going to continue to be at the top of college tennis. As we all know after we lose CA and HW this year, we probably do not have the troops to contend for a Natty in 2019, unless Lord and Tsygura become great players.
