Decent hypothesis, I think


Bones and connective tissue will only take so much stress, and obviously that varies from one person to another, but it seems reasonable that, if pitching velocity has increased and there is no breakthrough in mechanics, stress should increase, as well, and it would be reasonable to guess (barring further evidence) that this is a cause of injury.
