Good memory 22903. He left Canada back in December- after 6 months in the coaches basement he was going stir-crazy!

He did not get a scholarship up front- if and when he gets in the doubles and or singles line-up he will get money but the way I figure it, the $21,000 it will cost to have world-class tennis training, a great education, food and housing at NCSU is less than what I've been spending on his tennis alone the past several years so I am ecstatic:)

The scholarship piece would just be gravy and I suppose a bit of validation from his standpoint. With such a limited amount of men's tennis scholarship money, a parent would have to be nuts to think they will ever get an ROI on tennis. I think the value is in the intangibles- hard work, discipline, friendships made, travel, having a cool and unique college experience etc. Just the look on his face when he committed on Sunday may have been worth it all come to think of it!
