Zusi has no business playing at wing back

He is neither big nor fast and just doesn't belong on defense. Zusi has had some nice moments for the US, but he is 30 and done on the national scene. He's too small and slow for defense, and not good enough to displace other younger, swifter midfielders.

IMO, Bedoya's struggles related to Zusi's lack of pace on the wing. Bedoya had no space on the wing because there was no threat of an effective overlap. Bedya won't set the world on fire, but I don't count him out right now.

The defense wasn't good, but I felt it was the midfield that really let the team down. I saw an article where the midfield had 5 or 6 giveaways that resulted in breaks for Panama. That is unacceptable. Say what you will about Bradley, he doesn't do that, nor does Pulisic. Rowe was good, but flubbed it on th Panama goal. Acosta was over his head and turned the ball over numerous times. McCarty was a waste - completely absent from the game.

Perhaps most of all, the team had no chemistry. That is hardly surprising given the lineup and the fact that many had never played together.
