That's the NCAA's transfer rule; Garnsey runs up against an ACC rule.


As the article says, Galasso was allowed to play immediately at SU because they would not become ACC members until the 2013-14 school year and they weren't on UNC-CHeat's schedule yet. Under the conditions set by UNC-CHeat, Galasso would not have been allowed to transfer to JHU (an independent at the time) because they played each other during the regular season. Garnsey will be subject to the intra-conference transfer rule.
