But yes, I believe that we will see a storyline that the Caps need to "punish" the soft Pens with big hits, crying Sidney Crosby memes from the fanbase, etc. This worked years ago when Philly did it, but it doesn't work at all with Sullivan in charge. it certainly didn't work last year against the Caps or from Columbus this year, as Hartnell and Tortorella both admitted. Getting Ovechkin out of position trying to make a big head-hunting hit will just lead to a goal the other way. Agree with Rhino below, though, that more grit and tough play in front of the net on offense would greatly benefit the Caps..they tend at times to play outside the crease and try to snipe their goals (which works for Ovechkin but pretty much not anyone else).
