I was looking at our team stats this year compared to previous years...

I looked at team season stats going back to 2004. We have a very good hitting team this year. The two other years with great hitting were 2009 and 2010.

The columns below are batting avg, slugging avg, and opponent ERA:

2009 .327 .486 6.93
2010 .331 .508 7.49
2017 .326 .489 6.87

Our best hitting year was probably 2010 with all these guys hitting above .300:

Keith Werman
Phil Gosselin
John Barr
Jarrett Parker
Tyler Cannon
Kenny Swab
Steven Proscia
John Hicks
Stephen Bruno
Reed Gragnani
Chris Taylor

However, this year’s pitching is historically weak for a BOC team. Our ERA (4.02) is the highest except for last year, which was 4.22.

In many ways, our overall weakest team stats year was 2015, which just goes to show that what really counts is getting hot at the end of the year. In many years, our avg run differential (between us and opponent) is above 3 (or at least above 2). In 2015 the ERA differential was only 0.65.
