I never said it wasn't "deserving of major punishment"

just gave historical, documented cases of how "justice" is handed down by that group of powerless wonders known as the NCAA. After all, UNC is one of Nike's privileged schools, and Knight has to sign of on anything that happens to them.

The "1,000" you refer to has been repeated across the nation for years. Is that worthy of your indignation? Absolutely, but it's all about money and championships, which requires a strong, respected AD, SID, and a quality coaching staff.

Again, USC was done no harm other than losing Pete Carroll. They were limited to 15 scholarships, but 15 at USC will be higher rated than a class of 75 in Charlottesville. (Check the rankings, USC's class of 15 was top ten.) Yes, they lost there AD, who should never have had the job to begin with. Losing a Hype$man is about as important as forfeiting all their wins. The runnerups in Hype$man balloting don't care, and any school worth a damn won't accept a vacated win.

The only way to punish UNC is on the field - go out and beat them head to head with players prepared to play both physically and mentally. When the UVA football team looks across the line of scrimmage and into the eyes of UNC players and sees that look of defeat, the tide will turn. That requires preparation, attitude, hunger, and believing in your coaches so totally that the players will walk through a brickwall. It's been a while since that existed in Charlottesville.
