....I am 45 years old; good health, athletic build....this past weekend, I drove 700 miles over a 4 day period (from Thurs. - Sunday) stopping in various cities/towns around Virginia visiting friends/family. On Friday, I did run/walk down and then up a steep incline at a park wearing my Asic running shoes (it was only my 2nd time wearing them); the walk/run was no further than a 1/4 of a mile. Other than that and the driving, I did no other "fitness" related activities. On Sat. morning, I noticed a mild stiffness in my groin area and then, as the day rolled along, a pain appeared in my upper left buttock area. The pain has since increased and last night (Monday) was its worse. Has anyone else had such pain before? If so, what do you suppose it could be? I do walk (daily) during my lunch hour (about 1 mile) and after work, I walk/run up 8 floors of stairs (for cardio) at a nearby parking garage about 2-3 times a week. I haven't done any of these things since this pain in my hip and groin area appeared. I can walk okay, but I damn sure can't run. There's no discomfort in my hip when I walk, but the pain (a dull one) is there, directly in the upper center area of my left buttock.
