I rate Zion so highly because it is so compact and easy to

navigate, get around, and see multiple different sights in a short span. You can see the effect of wind erosion on the checkerboard rock faces, and an hour later see the impact of water erosion in Zion Narrows slots and canyons. You can hike to Angels Landing or Observation Point to see the entire park in a fairly easy morning and afternoon. Or you can traverse the entire park eastward or westward in a day or two depending on the trail. Great rustic camping and no overwhelming crowds and tour buses.

I've seen amazing things in Yosemite, Arches, Yellowstone, etc but their greatest vistas take strenuous hikes or overnight excursions. Zion is so compact it offers the perfect balance.
