Tough.

1. Anything off the Specials Board at Alley Light (except salads). If you held a gun to my head and said pick one, I'd go with the Guinea Hen Crepe.

2. Rock Shrimp Tempura at Ten (though the last two trips have not been top-5 worthy)

3. Tavola Mussels, Carbonara, or Gnocci. I'll go with Gnocchi when they've had it.

4. Lobster or Gnocchi at C&O. Two of the best first courses in town. Both would be in the top 5.

5. Dry Fried Eggplant at Peter Changs

There are times when a perfectly-timed sandwich from Bodo's, Littlejohn's, or Belair can't be equalled. Ditto for a sausage, egg and cheese with a side of gravy from Ace. Or a perfectly baked egg at Marie Bette with a fantastic cup of coffee and a window table on a lazy Sunday, kid-free morning.

Because it's seasonal, I didn't include it, but the papardelle with smoked pork and corn at Fry Springs is crazy good.
