They point to recruiting but that is a very important part of the equation.

The next coach may overachieve with less talent and wind up with a lot of NIT bids. Does that make him a better coach for NCSU? Of course not.

That said, it is a program spiraling down and one without a lot of hope to bounce back, and recruiting should also suffer. The worst is when you drag it out, delaying the inevitable.

Yes, could either be off court shenanigans or just a delusional fanbase. But it could work out for them before they hit rock bottom with no talent in the pipeline.
