it could also royally crush the ERA of relief pitchers. Instead of 2-1 final in 12 innings, there could be quite a few 10-9 in 14 innings.

What if the runner on 2nd was considered an unearned run against the pitchers?

Note, the inflation of the RBI stat for hitters in a 10-9 game extra inning game. I wonder if it would dilute the accomplishment of having 100 RBI's for the year.
